Designed specifically for use on UK homes, Clearly Solar has everything you need to look for in a flat plate solar thermal solution. Glow-worm’s Clearly Solar system delivers between 50 and 60% of your domestic hot water every year. In the summertime it can be as high as 100% which means that your boiler may never have to fire up, saving energy and money.

 
Robust and subtle design

Clearly Solar comes in a really simple pack solution ensuring that you have everything you need for your solar thermal installation, with total compatibility and simplicity. The flat plate collectors are made from black anodised aluminium which makes them hard wearing, robust and very subtle, neatly fitting into or onto your roof. Alternatively, if the inclination or aspect of your roof is not perfectly suited for a solar installation, Clearly Solar can also be installed on A-frames which are extremely easy to construct and site on a flat roof or in a garden.

Total compatibility

Clearly Solar is a pressurised system, meaning that it is completely full of heat transfer fluid and sealed from
the atmosphere (a similar concept to a sealed heating system). As with all Solar Thermal systems, you will still require a secondary heat source to provide your central heating. Clearly Solar is fully compatible with all new and existing open vent and sealed system boilers (including the complete Glow-worm range) or immersion heaters in non-gas areas.

Solar Panel

The Glow-worm Clearly Solar Flat Plate Collectors (part of the Clearly Solar system) give high efficiencies from a large absorber area of 2.35m², robust construction from toughened glass and laser welding, whilst the slim line frame gives it a total footprint of just 2.51m² and at 38kg it is one of the lightest flat plates on the market.

NEW Flurocyl₂ Twin Coil Cylinders – For renewable heating systems

Glow-worm’s Flurocyl₂ cylinders has one coil which heats water using power from your boiler and a second coil
which heats water using energy from a solar panel.


Whether you are installing a solar system now or simply preparing for the future, Glow-worm Flurocyl₂ cylinders are fully compatible with any regular heat only or sealed system boiler and fit easily through any standard airing cupboard door.

Special construction of the coils inside the cylinder ensures that the top 2/3 of the cylinder is heated first
enabling high volumes of hot water to be delivered on demand, and the thermostatic mixing valve mixes cold
water into the solar heated water to achieve the required temperature for safe water usage.

Clearly Solar Controller

The Clearly Solar Controller is the real brains of the operation, simple to use with a boiler domestic hot water programmer and solar gain display to show how much energy has been collected from the sun since the system began operating. Intelligent functionality holds off the boiler whenever there is solar gain to be had making fossil fuel usage as low as possible.

Solar Pump Station

The Clearly Solar Pump Station pumps the solar fluid from the flat plate collector to the cylinder and back again. Its compact design fits easily on the wall in the house or loft. The Three speed pump enables you to match the flow rate of the system to a wide range of properties.

Because heat naturally rises the pump station is fitted with 2 check valves which stop circulation of the solar fluid when the pump is not running, forcing the heat to stay in the cylinder rather than transferring back into the collector, increasing system efficiency.
