Glow-worm is proud to continue sponsoring the Heating Installer of the Year Awards (HIA) in 2020.

Back for a fifth year, the HIA is an opportunity to celebrate excellence in the heating industry by championing the achievements of installers who go the extra mile. The awards acknowledge those heating engineers that deliver incredible levels of service that improve the quality of the lives of their customers across the UK.

The awards in 2020 will be bigger and better than ever before! The HIA committee has added two new categories to complement the coveted Installer of the Year title. The new categories are Rising Star, which recognises up and coming talent among the apprentice community, and Most Sustainable Installer, which shows appreciation for installers delivering heating solutions that minimise the impact on the environment.

After entries close in February, the panel of judges will decide on winners that represent nine regions across the UK as well as the initial shortlist for the two new categories. Each regional winner will then be subject to scrutiny by a panel of expert judges, who will decide on the finalists that will face a public online vote. The winner will be announced at the Installer Show at the Ricoh Arena on May 13th, 2020.

Alice Woolley, Marketing Director for Glow-worm, commented, “Our team really enjoyed being involved in the Heating Installer of the Year Awards last year, when Glow-worm began its sponsorship. It was great to meet our hard-working installers and recognise the fantastic job they are doing representing our industry. Tony Dumble was a very worthy winner and a shining example of the excellence that can be achieved. We’re really looking forward to following the progress of this year’s entrants and seeing how winning one of these prestigious awards will help to boost their profiles and have a hugely positive effect on their businesses.”

The 2020 awards are now open for entries. All categories are free to enter and submissions can be made online at or by phone on 0161 871 1188.
