Boiler service FAQs
How often should I service my boiler?
It’s important to have your boiler serviced once a year. An annual boiler service is a requirement to maintain your Glow-worm guarantee after the first year. It’ll also ensure that your boiler is functioning correctly and not leaking carbon monoxide, which can be fatal.
An annual boiler service will extend the lifespan of your boiler, too. With regular checks and maintenance from an approved engineer, Glow-worm boilers can continue to heat your home for as long as 10-15 years from the point of installation.
How much does a Glow-worm annual boiler service cost?
You can book a boiler service with an approved Glow-worm engineer for as little as £99. Prices may vary depending on your location and the engineer you choose – find a Local Installer today for more information.

Can I service a boiler myself?
You should always contact a Gas Safe-registered specialist to service your boiler.
If you’re not trained in how to carry out the checks, you could injure yourself or damage the boiler by attempting to do so. You’ll also need an annual boiler service from an approved engineer to ensure your guarantee remains valid.
Who can carry out a boiler service?
What is a boiler service certificate?
A boiler service certificate provides proof that the service has been carried out by a Gas Safe-registered engineer and that your boiler is safe to operate. This document contains details and confirmation of all of the checks that have been carried out.
Once your engineer has finished a boiler service, they will give you a boiler service certificate (also known as a boiler service report). Feel free to ask your engineer questions if there are any parts of the report that you’re not sure about.
